Forest School Fun

Cheetahs class have had a brilliant afternoon in their forest school session. They spent time whittling after listening to their knife safety talk from Miss Cushion. They were trying to make spears, just like we have been learning about in our Stone Age topic.

Some children extended the mud kitchen by using a sleeper and slab for a worktop and oven.

Others were inspired to decorate their spears with wool.

One of our class even made a piece of art out of the natural materials she found.

Well done Cheetahs class.

A busy time in Cheetahs class

Wow! We are now in the last week of this half term and hasn't it flown by. Cheetahs class have been busy in English, writing diary entries inspired by the book Stone Age Boy.

We have also been making Stone Age paintings in art and creating wonderful front covers for our topic books.

In topic, the children are creating a fact file about hunters in the three stone ages, Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic. I will post these here when the children have finished them.

I hope you all have a great half-term and enjoy the break.

Reading Cafe

Cheetahs class had a brilliant time at our reading cafe. We read the marvellous book, Sir Charlie Stinky Socks and the Really Big Adventure by Kristina Stephenson.

The children loved the description and pictures.

We made book posters to go in our library and the 5 favourites were chosen by our head of school.

Thanks to everyone that came in to help out.
