Scientific enquiry

In Cheetahs class, we have been learning about the three states of matter and how they can be changed.

To test to see if the location of an ice-cube affected the rate that it melted, the class went to different locations within the school and watched what happened to the ice-cube.

The children had to make accurate measures and log if there was ice, water or both in the beaker.

We then discussed, back in the classroom, what we found and if we were to do the experiment again, what would our variable be.

Super science Cheetahs.

Journey

I hope you have had a fantastic summer break and are looking forward to the new school year as much as I am.

Cheetahs class have been reading the fantastic picture book Journey to go with our theme of Through The Door. They have been working hard on creating excellent descriptions of settings and action. When they are finished, I will upload them to our blog.

In maths the children have been using manipulatives to help them understand place value and ordering numbers.

We have also learned about the stone age and what life was like for children 10,000 years ago.
